Requirements Required to Be a Foundation Phase Teacher
To become a foundation phase teacher you need the following:
- English (Home Language or First Additional Language) AND Afrikaans or isiXhosa (Home Language or First Additional Language).
- The completion of this qualification could lead to students furthering their Higher Education access by registering for an Honours degree.
- An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 350.
- An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 365.
- Minimum NSC statutory requirements for degree entry must be met
- The Faculty may call candidates for admission interviews before final acceptance into the program.
- NSC achievement rating of at least 45% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics.
