To become a foundation phase teacher you need the following:

•  English (Home Language or First Additional Language) AND Afrikaans or isiXhosa (Home Language or First Additional Language).
• The completion of this qualification could lead to students furthering their Higher Education access by registering for an Honours degree.
•  An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 350.
•  An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 365.
•  Minimum NSC statutory requirements for degree entry must be met
•  The Faculty may call candidates for admission interviews before final acceptance into the program.
• NSC achievement rating of at least 45% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics.
