As simple as it may seem, you must fulfill the prerequisites before combining your matric scores. But don’t worry, they’re really simple. To be eligible, you must:
- Pass at least five of your six subjects
- Get more than 20% for a failed subject you want to combine
What Steps Must I Take To Merge My Matric Results
All you have to do is follow these simple steps to combine your Matric results:
- Visit the Department of Basic Education website, download and fill out the replacement certificate form (DBE)
- Please add the following files to the form:
- The outcomes you received after finishing each Matric exam session
- a copy of your identity document (ID),
- Evidence of Payment (R130, per the DBE’s guidelines)
- Submit these documents to the DBE office closest to you.

Department To Apply And Combine Matric Result
You can apply for a combination of Matric results through one of the following:
- Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website
- Provincial Education offices
- Postal method (fill in this form and send it to this address: Private Bag X895, Pretoria, 0001)
- You will need this to apply:
- Results from both exam sittings
- Your ID book/card
- Have a certified copy of your ID
