List Of Certificate In Draughtsmanship Courses And Programmes

Higher Certificate in Construction and Engineering Drafting aims to equip the student with the theoretical background and practical know-how of a combination of drawing and computer-aided drafting skills to enable the student to function well in a drafting office in a construction or architectural environment. The qualification also aims to familiarise the student with the necessary computer literacy skills to handle computer-aided drafting effectively. Below are some courses available:

Certificate In Draughtsmanship Application Fee

You will need to pay an application fee when pursuing a certificate in draughtsmanship:

• Cash fee: R32,000
• Cash Fee Deposit: R3 200
• Term Fee: R36 480 | 11 monthly instalments R2 985 per month
• Term Fee Deposit: R3,648

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

• Application Fee R3,500

The deposit is non-refundable; refer to the contract for the full cancellation clause.

• Need to have passed Grade 12.
• Mathematics and Physical Science, given the technical nature of drafting.

• Because the coursework will involve technical terminology and detailed instructions, proficiency in the language of instruction (English) is important.

• Some institutions might require or recommend that you have an N3 certificate in Engineering Studies or a relevant field. This can be especially helpful if you’ve focused on subjects like Engineering Drawing or Engineering Science at the N3 level.
• Some institutions might allow direct entry to N4 based on your Grade 12 results.

• While not always a strict requirement, having taken a technical drawing or design course in high school can be advantageous. It provides foundational knowledge that will be built upon during the N4 course.

 What Are The Requirements Of Electrical Infrastructure Construction?

If you are an international student, you must ensure that:

• You have an equivalent qualification to the aforementioned.
• Your equivalent qualification is evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA);
• You have a valid study visa issued in the name of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) that covers the duration of your studies.
• A USAf Exemption Certificate is required   –   the Office of the Registrar will facilitate, on behalf of the student, an application for degree admission to USAf, once the student has provided proof of payment to USAf.
