The admission requirements below apply to all who apply for admission to the University of Pretoria with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) and Independent Examination Board (IEB) qualifications. Click here for this Faculty Brochure.
If there is room, you will be considered for final admission to degree studies if you have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent credential with admission to bachelor’s degree studies, and if you also meet the minimum subject requirements and APS requirements of the program you have chosen. Returning students
A returning student is a student who is or was enrolled at UP at the time of application for a degree program and wishes to transfer to another degree at UP. Based on prior academic success and an NSC or comparable qualification, a returning student will be evaluated for admission.
Transferring students
A transfer student is a person who was enrolled at another tertiary institution at the time of application to the University of Pretoria (UP). A transfer student’s application for admission will be evaluated based on prior academic success and an NSC or comparable qualification. Poor academic performers who have been expelled from other universities will not be considered for admission to UP.
