Period of the Traffic Cops Training

The successful candidates will be required to complete a training programme that lasts for three (3) years, as a result of which they will be required to sign a three (3) year contract with the RTMC. The training programme will be held in Gauteng Province or any other suitable training location decided upon by the RTMC. The 14 traffic colleges that have been approved by the minister of transportation are where applicants who are employed as traffic officers or traffic trainees are sent to start their one-year training.

Qualifications for Traffic Cops

You must have no criminal record.
