How Many Campuses Does Lovedale Have

Lovedale TVET College has a rich and distinguished history in South African education. Over the years, while the institution has undergone many transformations in its structure and direction, it has consistently prioritized the needs of the surrounding community.

The TVET College operates across three campuses, each catering to specific community needs. These include the Alice Campus in the small town of Alice, home to the original Lovedale; the King William’s Town Campus; and the Zwelitsha Campus, also located in King William’s Town.

In 2002, as part of a nationwide merger of 152 technical colleges into 52 larger institutions, Lovedale Public FET College was formed by combining these three campuses. In 2015, the colleges came under the jurisdiction of the Department of Higher Education and changed their designation from Further Education and Training (FET) to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. Despite these changes, Lovedale continues its longstanding commitment to education and community development.

Lovedale Tvet College can be located at 1 Amatola Row, Qonce, 5601, South Africa. The history of the school is tied up in the history of each of its campuses.
