How to Determine Your Admissions Points Score for UCT
Based on the percentages gained on the preliminary and final National Senior Certificate exams, a score for admission will be issued.
When assessing admission, a total of six subjects—excluding Life Orientation—as well as English and any other subjects that might be required for the specific programme are taken into account. For example, we will sum the scores for English, math, physics, and the next three best subjects (aside from life orientation) to reach the NSC score towards the APS for a programme where math and physics are required.
Grades below 40% for any topic are not given.
