TOURISM AND INTEGRATED COMMUNICATION

The Department of Tourism and Integrated Communication encourages staff members and students to be the best they can be. These diverse course options are designed to give students the knowledge, drive, and skills they need to work in the growing tourism and hospitality industries.

The PR programs give students the necessary knowledge and abilities to communicate, design, and carry out public relations projects for any type of business. They also learn how to manage the strategic relationships and perceptions that an organization has with its internal and external stakeholders through communication.

To teach the core knowledge and skills necessary to meet the various demands placed on people in the domains of hospitality, tourism, and public relations, they draw from a wide range of fundamental subjects.

Tourism Management Admission Requirements: NSCA

Compulsory subjects Age exemption: Applicants of mature age (23 with grade 12) who do not meet the entry requirements must submit proof of permanent employment in industry, working in an area related to the field of the intended study.
English 4
Mathematical Literacy 4 or
Mathematics 3
One compulsory subject (Tourism, Geography, Business Studies, and history). 4
Remaining  3 Subjects (min. of 3 each subject)
Matric certificate must indicate admission to Diploma/B-degree

Requirements SC

A minimum rating of E (40-49%) for HG and D (50-59%) for SG subjects. English and Mathematics are compulsory. A total of 24 on the Swedish scale are required.

Requirements: N3-N6
A completed N6 in an appropriate field of study. Exemption may be awarded for equivalent subjects scored (50-59%) with a 60% similarity in content.

Requirements: NASCA/NCV (4)
To register and complete the Foundation program in the specific discipline with VUT, subject to the admission requirements for the Foundation program for this specific discipline.

Requirements: International qualification
All international qualifications will be evaluated by the International Office based on the Swedish scale.

 Requirements: Transfers Applications from students to transfer from other institutions will be dealt with in terms of the Recognition of Prior Learning and Continuation of Studies policies of VUT.
