Matriculation exams are a significant milestone in a student’s academic journey. However, sometimes students find themselves in a challenging situation where they fail one or more subjects in their matric exams. When it comes to matric exams, many students wonder how many subjects they can fail and still pass. The matric pass requirements allow you to fail one subject and still pass, provided you meet specific conditions in your other subjects.
Students are required to take seven (7) subjects for Matric. You must perform well in six (6) topics for your Matric to pass. You can fail one course and still pass the Matric but there is much more to do to reach this milestone. that’s why this information has been provided for your benefit.

Seven (7) subjects must be studied in Matric. You must perform well in six (6) topics to pass your Matric. One topic failure is permitted while still passing the Matriculation. The ideal outcome is to excel in each of the seven subjects.

How Are Final Matric Scores Calculated
The grades you earn on your school-based assessments and final test are used to compute your traditional Matric final marks. 100% of the marks count towards your final grade. The final exam accounts for 75% of the grade, while school-based tests account for 25%.
