Does tourism count for APS?
- A candidate’s performance in any SIX-recognized NSC 20-credit subjects (including subjects from the non-designated subject list, such as CAT, Tourism, Hospitality Studies, and Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Technology, etc.) is used to calculate their Admission Point Score (APS), which is based on the NSC seven-point rating.

Who can register?
- Applicants (new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and/or cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification.
- Re-registering students may register for the 2025 academic year once the registration period opens.
Qualification Admission Requirements for Tourism Management
Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
- A National Senior Certificate (Diploma endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning, or
- a Senior Certificate (SC) with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning, or
- any Higher Certificate obtained in the College of Economic and Management Sciences.
Applicants who do not meet the aforementioned prerequisites may think about enrolling in one of the College’s Higher Certificate programs. Please be aware that this application cost is not refundable, regardless of whether you choose not to enroll in Unisa’s programs, do not meet the requirements for admission, or are not able to accept an offer due to space restrictions.
