Admission Requirements at Lovedale TVET College 2026-2027
To be admitted to Lovedale, you must meet the following requirements for the following qualifications:
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE VOCATIONAL NC(V) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Ideal for students who have not yet obtained Grade 12
- Minimum Grade 9, but for maximum success, Grades 10 and 11 are given first preference and Grade 12 in exceptional cases
- NQF Level 1 qualification OR an approved bridging programme designed to access NQF Level 2 OR
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
- Three years (one year at each level)
NATIONAL N1- N3 CERTIFICATES (TECHNICAL / ARTISAN COURSES) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Ideal for students who wish to become skilled specialists in a trade
- Grade 9 with Mathematics, Physical / Life Science and English
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
- N1-N3: Three trimesters (one trimester per level)
NATIONAL N4-N6 CERTIFICATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Ideal for students who have obtained their Grade 12 qualification
- Grade 12 with a minimum E symbol / Level 3 (40-49%) for English Additional Language
- Minimum symbol D / Level 4 (50-59%) for English First Language
- In addition to the above-mentioned, Grade 12 Accounting is required if you wish to do Financial Management
- OR Level 4 NC(V) Certificate in related course
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
- 18 months theory (class work) = N4, N5 and N6 CERTIFICATES
- N6 CERTIFICATE +18 months practical work in the workplace = National Diploma

- Provide a valid copy of their current transcript

Admission Requirements
National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Programs:
- Minimum educational qualification: Grade 9.
- Preference is given to applicants with Grade 10 or 11 for better success.
- In exceptional cases, applicants with Grade 12 may be considered.
- Alternatively, applicants can qualify through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment.
- The NCV programs typically take three years to complete (one year per level).
- Courses offered include primary agriculture, Finance, economics and accounting, information technology, management, office administration, Civil Engineering, electrical infrastructure construction, and Engineering & related design.
National Nated Certificates (N4-N6):
- Applicants must have a Grade 12 qualification.
- A minimum E symbol (Level 3, 40-49%) in English is required.
- These programs are ideal for students who have completed Grade 12 and wish to pursue diplomas in fields such as public affairs management, financial resources management, human resources management, art and design, and farm management.
