Minimum Entry Requirements to Study Tourism
A minimum requirement for admission into the higher certificate is:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC), with English as one of the subjects passed and with endorsement
- for admission to Higher Certificate studies; or
- National Certificate (Vocational) (NC(V)), with English as one of the subjects passed and with endorsement for admission to Higher Certificate studies; or
- Prior to 2009, a Senior Certificate with English as one of the subjects passed
Alternative Routes of Entry
Several qualifications could satisfy the conditions for enrollment or advanced placement in the certificate.
- Certificate, NQF (OQSF) Level 4/5, minimum Credits 120; or
- Higher Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 5, minimum Credits 120; or
- Advanced Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 6, minimum Credits 120; or
- Diploma, NQF (OQSF/HEQSF) Level 5 or 6, minimum Credits 240 or 360; or an

Tourism Duration of Study
