UJ Hospitality Management Requirements
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) provides a variety of programs in hospitality management. To enroll in hospitality management studies at the University of Johannesburg, it’s important to meet the specific admission requirements given by the university for your chosen program.

Bachelor of Hospitality Management Requirements to University of Johannesburg
A minimum APS of 26 with Mathematics, or 28 with Mathematical Literacy. English 5 (60%), Mathematics or Technical Mathematics 4 (50%) or Mathematical Literacy 5 (60%).
Requirements for Hospitality Management 1 at University of Johannesburg
To qualify for participation into this programme, candidates must be employed in the food and beverage or hospitality environment in the capacity of full-time employee or a management trainee
Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management Requirements
A Diploma in Food and Beverage Operations or a National Diploma in Hospitality Management, both at NQF Level 6, are the prerequisites for entry into the Advanced Diploma (Hospitality Management).
Applicants with any other comparable diplomas in hospitality management or food and beverage operations with a least NQF Level 6 will also be taken into consideration. For only a NQF level 6 qualification, a combined third-year module minimum of 60% is needed.
Master of Tourism and Hospitality Management (Research)
Admission Requirement
A Postgraduate Diploma, a Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management with Honors, or an equivalent degree at NQF level 8 with a minimum average of 65% is required for admission. A research proposal must also be able to be developed by the student for the proposed research project. The choice and placement of graduate students is determined by the availability of mentors.

Admission Requirement
Candidates with any applicable baccalaureate degree, an advanced diploma, a BTech, and understanding of tourism and hospitality at the appropriate NQF Level: 7 are taken into consideration. Candidates with any other related qualification in hospitality or food and beverage operations (at NQF Level: 7), based on all final year modules, will also be taken into consideration. The last year of a baccalaureate degree or an average of 60% for each of their Advanced Diploma (or BTech qualification) modules must be completed by a prospective student.
Final selection requirements, based on academic performance, will from time to time be set by the School of Tourism and Hospitality (STH). The STH may require the completion of a bridging programme should students not comply with the rules of access regarding the specific module knowledge in Tourism and Hospitality. A potential student must have adequate English language proficiency by passing a literacy test. Selection may include an interview.
