Unisa and several Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges have an agreement to provide instruction in a particular set of qualifications. Application for the 2024 academic year is currently ongoing for interested applicants to apply.

Unisa Admission Date 2024;

The admission date for applicants who want to pursue undergraduate qualification, postgraduate diploma and honours degree starts from the 1st of September through to the 13th of October 2023, therefore all applicants who fall under this criteria should start with their application process to prevent late application. Also, applications for those interested in Master’s and Doctorial qualifications start from the 14th of September through to the 10th of November 2023.

Depending on the post-school certification you may hold, these are the requirements for entrance.

  •  National Senior Certificate (NSC) degree endorsement with at least 50% in the language of instruction and learning and at least 40% in mathematics or 50% in mathematics literacy is required for applicants.
  • Applicants must possess a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or meet the criteria for the Matriculation Board’s exemption with a minimum grade of D on HG or C on SG in the language of instruction and a minimum grade of F on HG or E on SG in mathematics.
  • National Certificate Vocational (NCV) level 4 is also a possibility for applicants. This calls for a minimum grade point average of 60% in three core courses, including the language of teaching and learning, and a minimum grade point average of 70% in four vocational subjects chosen from the NCV level 4 subjects.

All official languages at the First Additional Language level, agriculture and nature conservation, business, commerce, and management sciences services, education, training, development, mathematics, and natural science are additional subjects that have been approved as being eligible for a BEd degree.

  • Applicants should take note of the following guidelines during their application to Unisa;
  • Applicants must ensure that all admissions applications are submitted electronically.
  • Candidates must be aware that acceptance into a qualification is not guaranteed. if you meet the prerequisites for admission and if there is room depending on both.
  • Make sure your Tvet College of choice supports your qualifications before applying through Tvet College.
  • Make sure to submit your application for admission within the Unisa application period, either through your Tvet College or Unisa.
