What Are The Entry Requirements For Buffalo City TVET College?

Buffalo City TVET College offers a wide range of programs in fields such as engineering, business, hospitality, and information technology. To pursue any of the National Certificate (Vocational), Report 191 (NATED), or other skills programs, it is important to understand the entry requirements. These requirements vary depending on the level and type of program you are interested in. Entry requirements refer to the specific qualifications, skills, or criteria that applicants must meet to be eligible for the courses offered by the college.

To study at Buffalo City TVET College, applicants must meet specific admission requirements that vary by program. For NATED Report 191 courses, a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification is necessary. The NSC is typically obtained after completing Grade 12 in South Africa, and international qualifications must be recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as equivalent. For National Certificate (Vocational) or NC(V) courses, a minimum of a Grade 9 certificate is generally required.

Beyond these general educational qualifications, applicants must meet specific criteria related to subjects studied and grades achieved in their high school qualification. For example, engineering programs often require a background in mathematics and physical science, and higher grades may be needed for more competitive programs. Proof of English language proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS results, may be required if English is not the applicant’s first language, as English is the primary medium of instruction. International students also have additional requirements, which can include obtaining a study visa and providing proof of medical insurance. It is crucial to adhere to application deadlines to ensure consideration for the desired intake period. This guide provides an overview of the qualifications and criteria prospective students must meet to enrol in the various National Certificate (Vocational) and NATED (Report 191) programs at Buffalo City TVET College.
