Primary Health Care (PHC) subjects cover the essential knowledge areas for professionals working in this field. PHC is an approach to health and well-being that prioritizes the needs of individuals and communities. It focuses on providing health services that are accessible, affordable, and comprehensive, with an emphasis on prevention, education, treatment, and promoting overall health.

Primary Health is a course aimed at the student who would like to obtain a qualification in community-orientated primary health. The qualification covers both the theoretical and practical experience required which will be through both simulation and practical experience in the “real world” Bursaries for study are available. The full course consists of 21 subjects (7 on each level), i.e. 3 Fundamental subjects, 3 Core subjects plus one Elective. See Curriculum for subjects.
