Requirements Required to Be a Foundation Phase Teacher

To become a foundation phase teacher you need the following:

English (Home Language or First Additional Language) AND Afrikaans or isiXhosa (Home Language or First Additional Language).
The completion of this qualification could lead to students furthering their Higher Education access by registering for an Honours degree.
An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 350.
An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 365.
Minimum NSC statutory requirements for degree entry must be met
The Faculty may call candidates for admission interviews before final acceptance into the program.
NSC achievement rating of at least 45% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics.
