Northlink College Admission Entry Requirements

Applicants who wish to read any of the courses ranging from the national certificate vocational, Report 191 and the occupational programmes should take note of the following entry requirements.

NATED;

  • You must have  N1 – Grade 12
  • You must have an N2- Grade 12 Certificate with A Pass in Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Applicants must have  N4 – N3
  • You must have for N2 – N1
  • You must have N5 – N4
  • You must have for N3 – N2 /Technical Grade 12
  • You must have for N6 – N5

NCV

What Are The Minimum Entrance Requirements?
  • You must have a year-end school report for Grades 9, 10, 11 or 12, or
  • You must have an NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • You must have an approved bridging programme designed for the specific purpose of accessing NQF Level 2, or
  • You must have a recognition of Prior Learning (RLP) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.

Northlink College Courses Online Application Requirements

All potential applicants who wish to apply for the academic year at Northlink College should note the application requirements stated below.

  • South African ID or passport
  • Latest academic results (Grade 9–12, N‑certificate)
  • Parent/guardian ID (if applicable)
  • Proof of residence.

Foreigners

  • An official Acceptance Letter from the college.
  • An Accommodation Letter from the landlord confirming where the student will stay while studying in South Africa.
  • Proof of medical cover for the full duration of the study period.
  • A receipt confirming payment of tuition fees.
  • A valid passport.
  • A SAQA evaluation certificate, which must be included with all international qualifications.
  • Chinese students must request a letter from the International Office confirming that Northlink College is registered with the Western Cape Education Department (WCED). A copy of this letter will be provided.

How To Apply Online For Northlink College Courses

Northlink College has opened applications for its intake. If you are interested in studying in the second half of the academic year, follow the steps below to submit your online application.

Step 1: Career Guidance

  • All new applicants must complete career guidance to find suitable courses.
  • Create a profile with your login details.
  • Click the “First time here?” button to register.
  • Complete everything in the “Pre-entry information” folder.
  • Click each button and finish all screening assessments in this folder.
  • Answer every question, even if unsure.
  • Click the “Finish” button after each assessment.

*Step 2: Placement Assessment

  • Log in to your profile to complete the literacy, numeracy, and course selection assessments.
  • Completing this placement assessment is compulsory.
  • This is not a pass or fail test.
  • You must complete the assessment yourself; do not let anyone else do it for you.
  • The results help match you to the right course and support your success.
  • If someone else completes it, it may lead to poor academic performance.

Step 3: Course Application

  • Complete the online application form following the provided step-by-step guidelines.
  • Upload the following documents in PDF format, each separately in the correct section:
  • Certified copy of your ID (not older than 3 months)
  • Certified copy of your latest passed results (not older than 3 months)
  • Proof of address in your name
  • Failure to upload any required documents may result in application rejection.

Step 4: NSFAS Bursary Application

  • Direct all NSFAS enquiries to nsfas.org.za.
  • Bursary application dates and details will be available on the NSFAS website.
