Will I Get Admission To DUT With 20 Points

• YES

In addition to Rule G7, candidates having a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Senior Certificate (SC) qualification must obtain a minimum score of 20 points and an English rating or symbol as shown in the table below.   Candidates who hold a level 4 National Certificate (Vocational) certification must receive at least 50% in either English or Communication.

Application and Admission Process At DUT

All applicants are required to finish an application form which entails the following:

1. the applicant has to be the age of 23 years
2. Have three years of business/work experience
3. Need to be self-funded (NSFAS funding does not apply for part-time studies)
4. Complete all personal details on the application form
5. Submit clear certified copies of previous qualification/s completed
6. Submit a clear certified copy of your ID and matric certificate

Mature age exemptions may be accepted for applicants who do not meet the Matric points, please enquire directly with the coordinator.

What Is the NSC Point System

Let’s quickly review the NSC point system in South Africa before getting into specific study options. Your overall NSC score is determined by how well you perform in six different subjects. Only your top six subjects count towards your NSC score, and each subject is scored out of 100, with a maximum of 7 subjects. Your admission point score (APS), also known as your final NSC score, establishes your eligibility for different academic programmes.
