Did you know you can rewrite your matric exams if you are not okay with your results? Several students opt to rewrite their matric exams to improve their grades and qualify for higher education. Rewriting matric can be a difficult prospect, but with the right preparation, it can also be an experience if you are looking to upgrade your results.
You can retake the Matric in high school if you want to take it twice. Students under the age of 21 are the only ones who should apply. If you are above 21 years old and you were unable to complete your Matric in high school, you may do it as an adult. Where To Rewrite Your Matric Exams
You can repeat your Matric at the following places:
- Matric Rewrite Course
- Matric Upgrade Course
- Your current High School if you are 21 and younger
- A new High School if you are 21 and younger
Matric Rewrite Requirement Course
To qualify for the Matric Rewrite course, you must:
- Have a grade 9 or equivalent certificate (ABET level 04)
- Have an incomplete Matric result or your Matric Certificate
- Be 21 years or older at the time of your final exams
- Be able to read and write in English or Afrikaans

Courses You Can Rewrite
You won’t have to choose only one or two subjects to rewrite after finishing a Matric Rewrite course. To raise your grade point average, you can select one or two subjects.
Certificate To Receive When You Finish the Matric Rewrite Exam
You will be issued an Amended Senior Certificate once you have successfully finished the Matric Rewrite course. This certificate will be treated equally to a traditional Matric certificate because it is on the same level as one.
