3. 30% in three other subjects

Senior Certificate Pass

This is an ordinary pass in Matric. This will allow you to study any course that only requires a pass in Matric. In order to obtain this level of pass, you will need to achieve the following:

1. 40% in your Home Language subject
2. 40% in two other subjects
3. 30% in three other subjects. You can fail one subject, even if it’s your First Additional Language, but you must get 30% or more for the rest of your subjects.

What is APS?

Admission Points Score is referred to as APS. Each Matric exam mark you receive corresponds to an Admission Points Score. Universities use this score to assess if you may enrol in their programme by putting your grade in the range of 1 to 7 on the APS calculator.
