There are various reasons you can be absent from school without facing consequences or punishment from the Institution.

Before the first day of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examination, students in grade 12 can take five days off for study. If a student skips ten consecutive days of class without an acceptable reason, their records will be erased from the class register.

The main tenets of the policy are that all students, except those in Grade 12, must show up to class on each school day, including break times and the hours before, during, and after exams.
