The Department of Higher Education and Training has accredited the National Certificates N4–N6 in Tourism, and Umalusi checked their quality. Students must be dedicated, passionate, and willing to exhibit exceptional customer service abilities in the exciting and dynamic tourism business. A career in tourism is challenging and calls for individuals with strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as a commitment to excellence in both quality and service.

The knowledge, practical skills, competence, and understanding needed for successful work in the travel and tourism business are thus provided to students. Upon completion of the 18-month industry/practical component and submission of supporting documentation to the Department of Higher Education and Training, these certificates may be transformed into a National N-Diploma.
