The Tourism N6 subjects are specialized courses that are part of the curriculum for students pursuing a career in the tourism and hospitality industry.

This NC(V) Program is offered through the Department of Higher Education and Training, and Umalusi oversees its quality. Students receive a wide range of theoretical and practical expertise in the tourism industry through the program’s integration of theory and practice.

Tour guiding, tour operations, and tourism development are just a few of the topics covered in the NC(V) Tourism course. After earning their NQF Level 4 qualification, students can look for jobs in their field of study.

Why Study Tourism N6?

The demand for more educated personnel in the hospitality and tourist sector rises as we move toward a more internationally focused experience economy. There are various opportunities for employment in hotel management, food and beverage, event organizing, and tourism, making hospitality one of the largest sectors in the world.

What will you be learning for Tourism N6 Subjects

With a focus on the travel industry, this program seeks to give students the knowledge and skills they need for a career in tourism. Students must finish an 18-month practical component by working in the tourism business after completing the 18-month theoretical component. This guarantees that students are adequately equipped to enter the world of work as tourism industry employees.

Entry Requirements for Tourism N6

  • NC(V) Level 4 Certificate

OR

  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification

OR

  • APS score of 24, using double the English, Tourism and Geography and the two next best subjects of NSC/N3 (excluding Life Orientation)
