Understanding the N4 Tourism Course
The Department of Higher Education and Training has accredited the National Certificates N4–N6 in Tourism, and Umalusi has verified their quality. Students must be dedicated, passionate, and willing to exhibit exceptional customer service abilities in the exciting and dynamic tourism business. Admission Requirements and Course Details for Tourism N4
To apply for the Tourism N4 qualification, you must meet at least one of the following admission requirements:
- Grade 12 pass with an overall average of 50% or higher, including Tourism as a subject.
- NCV (National Certificate Vocational) Level 4 with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
- N3 Business Studies or NCV
- You must also be able to communicate effectively in English.
- All prospective students are required to complete a placement assessment as part of the admissions process.
Course Duration
- The program lasts 3 years in total:
- 18 months of theoretical learning, divided into three levels (N4, N5, N6), each level taking about 6 months.
- 18 months of practical internship in the tourism industry to gain hands-on experience.
- You can enrol in January or July, as registration is available during these months.
